Frequently asked questions
Specialty coffee is coffee that has been grown and harvested with more care, resulting in higher quality coffee, lacking the number of defects that commodity grade coffee often has. Coffee is considered specialty grade once it exceeds 80 points out of 100 on the SCA scoring system, after the green, raw coffee is graded and then evaluated on its sensory aspects. This results in better, more unique tasting coffees!

Whilst coffee does not spoil, the more time from the roast date, flavour will fade. It is best to drink coffee within 4-6weeks of the roast date, however can still be enjoyed up to 3 months of being roasted. Coffee roasted longer than this will just have much more muted flavour and aroma from the coffee, but will still be able to be drunk.
